(She, Her, Hers)
Margaret Brugger is the cofounder and executive director of Commún, a southwest Denver nonprofit founded by neighborhood residents to build community resilience. Under Margaret’s leadership, Commún is actively stewarding the revitalizing of the core of the historic Loretto Heights campus in the community's vision. Margaret guides programming that currently engages over 1,000 residents weekly, and has brought together some of the most brilliant minds in Colorado to support the organization's projects. Prior to cofounding Commún, Margaret worked for over 20 years as a bilingual child and family therapist. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a masters degree from the University of Denver, and an undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee. Margaret grew up in a small rural town in Wisconsin where she learned the power of belonging and an ability to see the value in every community member. Margaret has lived in Southwest Denver since 2006. When the Loretto Heights campus sold, she worked with neighbors to found Commún, anticipating the changes the community would experience and the need to work together to support existing neighbors while welcoming new ones.
